The Bushe Bashe will be an open day for all attracting aircraft from all over and members of the public. Because we are celebrating 65 years as an airport there will be a special welcome to any visiting aircraft with historic connections. 2007 is a very special year for aviation in general as Cessna, the American aircraft manufacturer is celebrating its 80th anniversary, the Supermarine Spitfire is celebrating its 70th year, the Beechcraft Bonanza its 60th anniversary and the Cessna 172 Skyhawk, its 50th year.

When all the visiting aircraft have landed participating ones will be judged by our specially chosen panel in a concours d'elegance and prizes will go to the winners. There will also be a spot landing competition for the precise flyers and an aerial treasure hunt for the flying sleuths. There will be two treasure hunts. One for the flying students and newer pilots and a much more difficult one involving lots of radio nav. Take your pick!

On the ground there will be lots to do. Stalls from local traders, aviation suppliers and more will dot the area and we will have a bouncy castle and other entertainment for the kids. During the day there will also be a Charity raffle with superb prizes including lunch in Alderney!

During the day visitors will be flying in and out, displaying their flying skills and generally showing off!

Fun flights will also be available also for the adventurous.

In the evening at Bentleys, the airfield restaurant, there will be the Bushe Bashe Boogie with dinner, live music and dancing 'till the wee hours. Tickets are available at £20 pp.

On Sunday the visiting aircraft which stayed overnight will slowly start their journeys home to the four corners of the UK and further! Bentleys will, of course be open for the whole day and everyone is most welcome to pop in and watch them go.

If you are a pilot wishing to partake in the fly in or any of the flying competitions please go here for full details of the day.
